Start the Truck for a short time and look for bubbles in the cross over. Foaming means air in the system. One source of air is a blown gasket. WebNov 4, 2007 · edogd1. I have a 2001 ML 320 with about 100Kmi on it. I have recently noticed that I have a white/yellow mucous like sludge that is gathering on the roof of the clear coolant reservoir tank that is at the back of the engine. When I unscrew the cap I see can see this sludge. I have also noticed a dark layer of liquid floating on top of the coolant.
