One important feature on GitHub is the ‘pull request’: we often contribute to a piece of software by proposing changes to a piece of code. The number of pull requests is not, per se, an objective measure of how much one contributes to a piece of software. WebGitHub Pages is great for building a personal or project website. It'll default to http://username.github.io, or you can even use your own custom domain name from services like Namecheap, which I will write about in another post soon.
