Webif it is not breaking off with a chisel, then I'd say you have full adhesion. I would saw the supports away leaving a little waste material. It should be easier to remove at that point with a "sharp" chisel :D. I use my blue irwins often with my printed parts, it stays planer to the plastic so I don't create gouges.
